Abel
The Caring Shepherd

Meet the Character
Abel was Cain’s brother and cared for sheep. He brought the best of his flock as an offering to God with faith and devotion. God was pleased with his offering. Cain became jealous and killed him. Abel was the one who was harmed; his brother’s violence was not Abel’s fault.

Talk About It
What does it mean to give something with a sincere heart?
Character Design
Abel is a youthful adult with a rounded face, short sandy-brown curls, hazel eyes, a small upturned nose, light freckles, and no beard. His cream tunic, blue mantle, and gently held lamb express his work as a shepherd.
The appearance is an artistic design for this course, not a biblical description of the person’s looks.
