Read: The Three Lanterns
A child found three lanterns beside a sleeping gatekeeper. A note read, "One light opens the gate; two lights show the road; three lights show whom to help." The child lit one lantern and the gate swung open. She lit two and a silver road appeared. She wanted to hurry home, but she lit the third. Its glow revealed a traveler with a torn shoe. She helped mend it. The traveler thanked her, and the silver road became a short path to her own door.
