God Creates the World

Before anything existed, God made the heavens and the earth. Everything was empty and dark, but when God spoke, light appeared. He separated the light from the darkness.

Then God made the sky, the seas, and the dry land. He covered the earth with plants, flowers, and trees. God placed the sun in the sky for the day and the moon and stars for the night.

Next, God filled the waters with sea creatures and the sky with birds. He made animals to live on the land too.

At last, God made people. He formed the first man from the dust of the ground and gave him life. Later, God made the first woman. Their names were Adam and Eve. God looked at everything He had made, and it was very good.
