The Ascension

For forty days after His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples many times. He taught them from the Scriptures and explained God's plan of salvation.

One day, Jesus met His followers on the Mount of Olives. He told them that they would be His witnesses in Jerusalem and throughout the world. He instructed them to teach others and baptize new believers.

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would come to help them. Then He raised His hands and blessed them.

As the disciples watched, Jesus was taken up into heaven. A cloud hid Him from their sight, and they worshiped Him with joy and returned to Jerusalem.
