Daniel, the Interpreter of Dreams

When Jerusalem was captured by the Babylonians, King Nebuchadnezzar chose four young Jewish men—Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—to serve in his palace. They were trained to assist the king and impressed him with their wisdom. Daniel, in particular, could interpret dreams, and the king kept him close to serve in important matters. Despite being in a foreign land, all four continued to worship God faithfully.

Nebuchadnezzar made a large gold statue and commanded everyone to worship it. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused, saying that God would save them. The king ordered them to be thrown into a blazing furnace. Miraculously, they were unharmed, and a fourth figure appeared with them, whom the king recognized as divine. Witnessing this, Nebuchadnezzar praised their God and appointed them to high positions in the kingdom.
