Cain and Abel
Adam and Eve had two sons named Cain and Abel. As they grew older, Cain became a farmer who worked the land, while Abel became a shepherd who cared for sheep. One day, both brothers brought offerings to God. Cain offered crops from his fields, while Abel offered the best lamb from his flock.
God was pleased with Abels offering because it was given with faith and devotion. However, Cain became jealous when God favored Abels gift. Instead of changing his attitude, Cain allowed anger to grow in his heart. He invited Abel to go out into the field with him and there he attacked and killed his brother.
Later, God asked Cain where Abel was. Cain lied, but God already knew what had happened. As punishment, God made Cain a wanderer on the earth. In time, Cain married and had children. Adam and Eve later had another son named Seth, along with other sons and daughters. Their family grew, and many of their descendants followed God. Adam and Eve lived for many hundreds of years, as did most of their descendants.
