Scene 1 – A Cruel Pharaoh
Narrator: The Israelites had grown into a large nation in Egypt. A new Pharaoh was afraid of them and made them slaves.
Pharaoh: The Hebrews are becoming too many.
Guard: What shall we do, my king?
Pharaoh: Every Hebrew baby boy must be killed.
Narrator: The people were very afraid.

Scene 2 – A Brave Mother
Narrator: A Hebrew woman named Jochebed gave birth to a baby boy.
Jochebed: My baby is special. I must protect him.
Moses Sister: I will help you, Mother.
Narrator: Jochebed hid the baby for three months.

Scene 3 – The Basket in the River
(Blue cloth represents the river.)
Jochebed: I cannot hide him any longer.
Moses Sister: God will take care of him.
Narrator: Jochebed placed the baby in a basket and set it among the reeds.

Scene 4 – The Princess Finds the Baby
Princess: What is that basket in the river?
Narrator: The princess opened the basket and saw the crying baby.
Princess: This is a Hebrew baby.
Princess: I feel sorry for him.
Moses Sister: Shall I find someone to care for the baby?
Princess: Yes, please.

Scene 5 – Mother and Child Reunited
Narrator: Moses sister brought Jochebed to the princess.
Princess: Take care of this baby for me.
Jochebed: I will gladly care for him.
Narrator: Jochebed was paid to care for her own son.

Scene 6 – Moses is Adopted
Narrator: When the child grew older, the princess adopted him.
Princess: His name will be Moses.
Moses: Thank you for caring for me.
Narrator: Moses would one day become Gods great prophet and leader.
