Lazarus Brought Back to Life
Lazarus lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. They were close friends of Jesus. When Lazarus became very sick, the sisters sent a message asking Jesus to come.
Although Jesus cared deeply for them, He did not arrive immediately. By the time Jesus reached Bethany, Lazarus had already been dead for four days. Martha told Jesus that if He had been there sooner, her brother would not have died.
Jesus reminded Martha that those who believe in Him will live again. Martha declared her faith that Jesus was the Messiah. When Jesus saw the sadness of Mary and the mourners, He wept with them.
At the tomb, Jesus ordered the stone to be removed. Then He called out, "Lazarus, come out!" Lazarus walked out alive, still wrapped in grave clothes. Many people believed in Jesus after witnessing this amazing miracle.
