The Glory of Jesus
Jesus asked His disciples who people believed He was. They answered that some thought He was John the Baptist, Elijah, or one of the prophets. When Jesus asked what they believed, Peter boldly declared that Jesus was the Son of God and the promised Savior.
Jesus then explained that He would suffer, die in Jerusalem, and rise again on the third day. The disciples did not fully understand what He meant.
About a week later, Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a high mountain. There, His appearance changed before them. His face shone brightly, and His clothes became dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Him.
A cloud surrounded them, and a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son. Listen to Him." The disciples were frightened and fell to the ground. When they looked up again, only Jesus remained. He told them not to tell anyone what they had seen until after His resurrection.
