Healing on the Sabbath
Jesus often disagreed with some religious leaders about how God's laws should be understood. On one Sabbath day, Jesus was teaching in a synagogue when a man with a paralyzed hand came to Him.
Some Pharisees carefully watched Jesus because they wanted to accuse Him of breaking their rules. Jesus knew what they were thinking and called the man forward.
Then Jesus asked whether it was right to do good or harm on the Sabbath. No one answered. Seeing their hard hearts, Jesus told the man to stretch out his hand.
The man obeyed, and immediately his hand became completely healthy. The people rejoiced, but the Pharisees became angry because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath.
