Jesus was passing through Jericho on His way to Jerusalem. A wealthy but disliked tax collector named Zacchaeus wanted to see Him.

Because Zacchaeus was short, he climbed a sycamore tree to get a better view. When Jesus reached the spot, He called Zacchaeus down and said He would stay at his house.

Zacchaeus joyfully welcomed Jesus and decided to change his life, promising to give to the poor and repay those he had cheated. Jesus declared that salvation had come to Zacchaeus’ home.
