Bringing the Dead Back to Life

Jesus was surrounded by a large crowd by the lakeside when Jairus, a synagogue leader, fell at His feet begging Him to heal his dying daughter. Jesus agreed and went with him, while the crowd followed closely.

On the way, a woman who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years touched Jesus’ cloak in faith and was instantly healed. Jesus told her that her faith had made her well.

Soon after, messengers arrived saying Jairus’ daughter had died. Jesus told Jairus not to be afraid, but to believe. When they reached the house, people were mourning loudly.

Jesus went inside with Peter, James, and John. Taking the girl’s hand, He said, “Little girl, get up.” Immediately, she came back to life and began walking around, and everyone was amazed.
