Jesus the Healer

Jesus the Healer

Matthew left his successful job as a tax collector to follow Jesus. To introduce his friends to Jesus, Matthew held a large feast. Many people attended, including those whom religious leaders considered sinners. When the leaders questioned why Jesus spent time with such people, Jesus explained that healthy people do not need a doctor. Just as sick people need healing, those who have sinned need God's forgiveness and help.

One Sabbath, Jesus went to the synagogue in Capernaum. Afterward, He visited the home of Peter and Andrew. Peters mother-in-law was suffering from a severe fever. Jesus took her hand and helped her up. Immediately, the fever disappeared, and she regained her strength. She soon began serving Jesus and His disciples.

News of this miracle spread quickly throughout the town. By evening, many people gathered outside Peters house. Some were blind, others were deaf, unable to walk, troubled by evil spirits, or suffering from diseases such as leprosy.

Jesus healed them all. Through these miracles, people saw God's power at work and learned that God cared deeply for every person who came to Him in faith.
