Jesus in His Fathers House
Every year, Jewish families traveled to Jerusalem for the Passover celebration. When Jesus was twelve years old, Joseph and Mary brought Him to Jerusalem. After the festival ended, everyone began the journey home. Mary thought Jesus was with Josephs group, and Joseph thought Jesus was with Marys group.
When they met later, they realized Jesus was missing. Alarmed, they searched among relatives and friends but could not find Him. They returned to Jerusalem and spent three days looking for Him.
Finally, they found Jesus in the Temple. He was sitting among the teachers, listening carefully and asking questions. The teachers were amazed by His understanding and wisdom.
Mary asked why He had caused them such worry. Jesus answered that He needed to be in His Fathers house. Though they did not fully understand His words, Jesus returned home with them and continued growing in wisdom and favor with God and people.
