Miracles of the Prophet Elisha
Elisha became known throughout Israel and even in neighboring nations because of the miracles God performed through him. One day, a widow came to Elisha in great distress. Her husband had died, leaving debts behind. A creditor was threatening to take her two sons as slaves if she could not repay what she owed.
Elisha asked the widow what she had in her house. She replied that she possessed only a small jar of oil. Elisha instructed her to borrow as many empty jars as possible from her neighbors and bring them into her home.
The widow obeyed. She and her sons began pouring oil from the small jar into the empty containers. Miraculously, the oil continued flowing until every jar was completely full. Only when there were no more jars left did the oil stop.
Elisha told the widow to sell the oil, pay her debts, and use the remaining money to support herself and her sons. Through God's provision, the family was rescued from poverty and slavery.
