Noah's Ark
As generations passed, people became increasingly wicked and violent. Their sinful actions grieved God, and He decided to judge the world with a great flood. However, God chose Noah, a righteous man, to be saved along with his family.
God instructed Noah to build a large ark. Noah obeyed God's command and spent many years building it. God told Noah to bring his wife, his three sons, their wives, and pairs of animals and birds into the ark. God also warned that rain would fall for forty days and forty nights, covering the earth with water.
Before the flood came, Noah warned people to turn away from their evil ways, but they did not listen. When the ark was ready and everyone was inside, the floodwaters covered the earth, even the highest mountains. The ark floated safely through the waters and eventually came to rest on Mount Ararat.
Later, Noah sent out a dove to see whether the land was dry. When the dove returned with a fresh olive leaf, Noah knew the waters were receding. Finally, God told Noah and his family to leave the ark and begin life again on the earth.
