#age6

The First Speech

米 娅 stood on the stage with her hands trembling. The bright lights made her feel small, and the crowd looked endless. She wished she could disappear behind the microphone. Her  老 师 smiled kindly, reminding her of the deep breath trick they practiced.  米 娅 closed her eyes and took a long, brave breath.

Imagining the Sheep

Then she remembered her funny idea: imagine the  观 众 as fluffy  绵 羊! One by one, all the serious faces in her mind turned into puffy, woolly  绵 羊 blinking at her. Some chewed imaginary grass, others wiggled their ears. The thought made her giggle a little. The fear in her chest began to shrink like a melting ice cube.

Finding Her Voice

米 娅 began to speak. Her voice shook at first, but the  绵 羊 seemed to listen kindly. Each sentence she said made her feel braver. She even added a funny line that made the ' 绵 羊' in her imagination laugh! She could almost hear their baa-ing cheers echoing softly in her heart.

The Applause

When she finished, the  观 众 burst into applause. It wasn’t a herd of  绵 羊 clapping, but real people smiling proudly at her.  米 娅 felt her heart jump with joy. She had done it—she had spoken clearly and confidently! Her  老 师 gave her a thumbs-up, and her  朋 友 hugged her after the show.

A Lesson Remembered

From that day on,  米 娅 always remembered her  绵 羊 trick. Whenever fear tried to visit, she turned it into something soft and funny. Whether reading aloud in class or telling stories at home, she spoke with a new sparkle in her voice.  恐 惧 might still knock on her door, but  勇 气 always answered first.
