Together with his friends the rabbit, the squirrel, and the wise old owl, they promised to keep the meadow safe and cheerful.

One sunny morning, the meadow's seed pantry was empty! Gus gathered his friends to investigate. They found faint footprints on the grass and a smudge of dirt by the waterhole. Everyone was puzzled: who could have taken the tasty seeds? Gus decided it was time for detective work.

While digging near the hill, Gus saw a tiny paw print that matched the size of the squirrel’s paws. The squirrel whispered, “I saw someone with a big tail running away.” They followed the track to the berry bush where a shadowy shape moved. Gus felt a thrill of excitement; the mystery was getting clearer.

The footprints led them to a hollow tree trunk. Inside, they found a small notebook filled with doodles. The next page had a drawing of a fox with a wink. They realized the fox was planning something playful! The gopher’s heart beat faster; clues were piling up.
