The Squirrel and the Giant Acorn
The Giant Discovery
One crisp autumn morning, a little squirrel named Nibby was hopping through the forest, looking for acorns. Suddenly, he spotted something unbelievable — an acorn as big as a bowling ball! It was shiny, golden-brown, and stuck halfway under a pile of leaves. Nibby’s eyes grew wide with excitement. He squeaked, “This will be the grandest acorn in all the forest!”
Too Heavy to Lift
Nibby ran up to the acorn and tried to roll it toward his tree. He pushed with all his might, his tiny paws slipping on the dirt. But the acorn didn’t move an inch! He tried pulling it by its stem, pushing it with his tail, and even climbing on top to jump down — but it was just too heavy. “Maybe I need help,” Nibby sighed, panting.
Friends to the Rescue
Nibby scampered off to find his friends. Soon, Benny the beaver, Tilly the turtle, and Poppy the porcupine came along. They all gasped at the sight of the enormous acorn. Benny said, “We can do this together!” They pushed, pulled, and dug around it. Bit by bit, the acorn started to wiggle free. Everyone cheered as it finally rolled onto the path!
The Journey Home
Moving the acorn was no easy job. The friends took turns pushing it up hills and steering it around rocks. Tilly made sure it didn’t roll into the stream, while Poppy kept watch for hungry birds. Nibby stayed at the front, guiding the way home. The forest animals peeked out from their homes, amazed at the sight of the rolling acorn parade.
The Feast of Friendship
When they finally reached Nibby’s tree, everyone was exhausted but proud. They decided to crack open the giant acorn and share it. It became the biggest feast the forest had ever seen! As they munched happily together, Nibby realized something special — the best part of finding the giant acorn wasn’t owning it. It was sharing it with friends.
