“It must be the sun being playful!”

cried Lily.

At the park, the river that usually gleamed green turned a deep, gleaming red.

The sky whispered soft, “Let’s mix more colors.”

They all giggled and tried to match the sky with their own crayons.

The Purple Parade

As the afternoon slipped into dusk, a parade of kids appeared, wearing hats that had colors that were all wrong at once.

Their shirts were red but shone with a light green sheen, and the kids danced until the sky turned a gentle lavender.

The children lay on the grass, grateful that they’d had a day of such joyful color changes.

“It felt like we were in a magical paint shop,” whispered Lily.
