The Discovery

One sunny afternoon, a group of friends named Lily, Max, and Omar were exploring the town museum.
一个阳光明媚的下午，莉莉、马克斯和奥马尔在小镇的博物馆里探险。
They wandered into a dusty old room full of ancient artifacts.
他们走进一个满是灰尘的古老房间，里面摆满了古代文物。
Suddenly, a display case began to shake.
突然，一个展示柜开始摇晃。
Inside was a mummy that slowly sat up, yawned, and said, 'Finally, someone to talk to!'
里面的木乃伊慢慢坐了起来，打了个哈欠，说：“终于有人可以和我说话了！”
The children were shocked but curious, and soon they began talking with the mummy.
孩子们虽然惊讶，但更多的是好奇，很快他们和木乃伊聊了起来。
The Mummy’s Story
木乃伊的故事
The mummy introduced himself as Amun, a scribe from Ancient Egypt.
木乃伊自我介绍说他叫阿蒙，是古埃及的一位书记。
He told them how he once served a young pharaoh.
他告诉孩子们，他曾为一位年轻的法老工作。
He explained the meaning of hieroglyphs, showing them symbols that stood for the sun, water, and friendship.
他解释了象形文字的含义，给他们展示了代表太阳、水和友谊的符号。
Lily took notes while Max practiced drawing the symbols.
莉莉认真记着笔记，马克斯练习画这些符号。
Omar asked, 'How did you end up in this museum?'

Amun smiled mysteriously and said, 'That’s a story for another time.'

Journey to the Past

With a swirl of golden dust, Amun cast a spell that took them all back in time to Ancient Egypt.
随着一阵金色的尘埃旋转，阿蒙施展了魔法，把他们带回了古埃及。
They saw the Nile River glistening under the sun and pyramids reaching high into the sky.
他们看到尼罗河在阳光下闪闪发光，金字塔高高耸立。
Children watched people building temples, trading in the market, and writing on papyrus.
孩子们看到人们在建造神庙、在市场上交易、在纸莎草上写字。
They even helped carry small stones for the builders.
他们甚至帮忙搬运小石块。
Amun told them, 'Every person, no matter how small, has an important role.'
阿蒙告诉他们：“每个人，无论多么渺小，都有重要的作用。”
The Hidden Chamber
秘密密室
While exploring, they discovered a secret passage beneath a temple.
在探险时，他们发现了神庙下的一个秘密通道。
Torches flickered as they entered a hidden chamber full of paintings and golden treasures.
火把在墙上摇曳着，他们走进一个满是壁画和金色宝物的密室。
Amun explained that the treasures weren’t for greed, but to honor the gods.
阿蒙解释说，这些宝藏不是为了贪婪，而是为了敬奉神灵。
Suddenly, a trapdoor opened, and they slid into another tunnel filled with sand!
突然，一个暗门打开了，他们滑进了一个充满沙子的通道！
Luckily, Omar’s quick thinking helped them find a way out.
幸运的是，奥马尔的机智帮助他们找到了出口。
Return to the Present
回到现在
As the sun began to set, Amun said it was time to go back.
当太阳开始落山时，阿蒙说该回去了。
He thanked the children for listening and promised they’d always carry the spirit of Ancient Egypt with them.
他感谢孩子们的倾听，并告诉他们，他们将永远带着古埃及的精神。
With another flash of golden dust, they were back in the museum.
又是一道金光闪过，他们回到了博物馆。
The mummy was once again still and silent, but now they understood his world.

Every time they visited the museum after that, they smiled at Amun’s case, whispering, 'Shukran, friend.'
从那以后，每次参观博物馆，他们都会对阿蒙的玻璃柜微笑，轻声说：“谢谢你，朋友。”
