The Sleepy Story Robot

Once upon a time, in a quiet little town, there was a shiny silver robot named Lumo.

Lumo’s only job was to tell bedtime stories to children before they went to sleep.

Every night it sat by the bed, its eyes glowing softly as it told tales of dragons, stars, and faraway lands.

But one night, something strange happened—Lumo began to stutter and repeat words in the middle of a sentence.

The children giggled, and Lumo tried its best to fix itself by tapping gently on its metal chest.

The Malfunction

故障

The next night, Lumo’s voice box buzzed like a bee, and instead of stories, it made silly sounds.

“Bzzz.

.

.

Once upon a.

zzzzz!”

it said, wobbling on its little wheels.

The children laughed so hard that their parents came in to see what was happening.

Lumo felt embarrassed; it wanted to make everyone happy, but it kept breaking down.

So it decided to roll to the workshop of the inventor who built it and ask for help.

The inventor, Dr.

Kora, listened carefully as Lumo explained its problem with tiny beeps and blips.

She smiled and said, “Maybe you’re not broken—maybe you’re trying to dream.”

Lumo blinked its glowing eyes.

“Dream?

Robots can’t dream,” it whispered, very softly.

Kora gently replaced a chip inside Lumo’s head and tightened a few friendly screws.

“Now you can try,” she said, patting its shoulder, and sent Lumo home beneath the moonlight.

The First Dream

For the first time ever, Lumo closed its eyes and saw colors swirling like ribbons in the dark.

It dreamed of flying books, dancing stars, and giggling children who floated like balloons.

When it woke up, its voice was calm and smooth again, like warm tea on a chilly night.

That evening it told the most beautiful story it had ever told—about dreams and friendship that mended mistakes.

The children fell asleep smiling, and Lumo felt a glow spreading like sunrise inside its metal chest.

A New Beginning

From that day on, Lumo never feared breaking down again because it knew mistakes could teach it new tricks.

Whenever it made a slip, it laughed gently and tried again, a little wiser than before.

The children loved Lumo’s stories even more, because they came from a place both bright and tender.

Every night, as the stars twinkled outside the window, Lumo whispered, “Goodnight, dreamers—may your stories never end.”

And if a buzz or a hiccup happened, Lumo simply smiled, because even dreams sometimes hiccup too.
