A gentle story about generosity, limits, and the balance of giving.

The early morning sun peeks over the hills, sprinkling golden light across two children's cheeks. Lily and her younger brother Tom share a small bowl of strawberries. Lily, always kind, offers Tom the last piece. Tom smiles, grateful, and the sun seems to grow brighter. Their mother watches and smiles at their beautiful sharing.

One rainy day, Lily sees a small toy train on the playground. She rushes home with it, thinking, “I’ll give it to Tom.” She finds him building a tower of blocks. Lily hands him the train, and his eyes widen. The train chug‑chugged happily, but soon Tom realizes he must share the tracks. The train and the blocks coexist, teaching them teamwork.

In the park, a tree with chocolate‑colored leaves grows. Lily tastes one leaf and immediately offers it to Tom. Tom takes a bite, and a sweet, warm feeling fills his tummy. Lily’s heart feels lighter, knowing Tom is happy. Yet the tree’s roots begin to wilt from too many plucks.

As days go by, Lily gives away almost everything she has. She shares her crayons, her shoes, her favorite storybooks. Tom starts to feel lonely, realizing that sometimes, giving too much can take away what matters. He decides to ask for help when he needs it.

One night, Lily sits alone, thinking of Tom’s feeling. She finds a hollowed‑out box and places a single shiny rock inside. She tells Tom it is a treasure and encourages him to keep it safe. Tom hugs the rock, learning that a small gift can hold huge feelings.

When Lily returns the next morning, Tom greets her warmly. She gently accepts a new toy—one that she chose for herself. Tom says, “I’m happy because we can give and also keep what we need.” The sun smiles down, and the siblings learn that generosity, when balanced with self‑care, makes all hearts shine.
