An exciting adventure about Lily, a curious girl who discovers a magic mirror that loves to argue.

Lily found the mirror in an old attic while looking for her favorite stuffed bear. She wiped the glass clean, and a bright glow came out. The mirror whispered, "I see you," and then began to disagree with everything Lily said. Her eyes widened as the mirror said, "That does not look true," instead of saying something nice. Lily laughed, "I think it's wonderful," but the mirror said, "That's too kind!" It was the start of a strange friendship.

When Lily walked outside, the mirror started to challenge her. She walked to the park, and the mirror said, "Did you really bring your crayons?" Lily replied, "Yes, I always bring them." The mirror replied, "You would bring them for colors, not for fun!*" She giggled and kept walking, the mirror’s words bouncing off her thoughts. The mirror was not rude, it just had a different way of looking at the world.

Lily noticed that the mirror only argued about the truth of what was spoken. She asked, "Why do you do that?" The mirror replied, "I want to help you think twice." When Lily answered, "Help me decide which ice cream flavor to choose," the mirror said, "Which would be best? Cherry? Blueberry?" Because of the mirror, Lily learned to weigh her options carefully.

One rainy afternoon, Lily invited her best friend Mia over. "Mia, look! I have a talking mirror." Mia asked, "What would it say if I told it I love the rain?" The mirror said, "Rain is lovely, but does it ever get you wet?" Mia giggled and said, "Yes, but I also love it because it reminds me of music!" The mirror said, "I agree to love the music but not the wetness!" Their laughter made the mirror’s debates feel lighter.

During school recess, Lily held the mirror with classmates. A boy named Tim asked, "What colors are you?" The mirror said, "Bright! But also deep. I’m not a simple color." Lily told her classmates, "The mirror can say many things." They all asked the mirror different questions and each time it answered in a new, different way. They learned that debate can be funny when it’s friendly.

Lily felt tired and rested beside her bed. She whispered, "Thank you for the arguments," and the mirror said, "You always learn, Lily. Thank you for listening to my thoughts too!" The words were gentle and filled with gratitude. Lily smiled, put the mirror in the cupboard, and decided to keep it as a cherished friend.

Later, Lily found the mirror again and it greeted her. She asked, "Are you still arguing?" The mirror replied, "Always! Because every idea can be improved by asking questions." Lily knew she could count on her mirror friend forever. Together, they would share many more talking adventures and always respect each other’s opinions.
