A gentle story about how a big cloud of sadness becomes smaller when friends share kindness.

On a bright spring morning, a little boy named Milo wandered into a meadow. He saw a huge gray cloud hovering over the flowers. The cloud seemed to be raining sadness, drooping the petals around it. Milo wondered why the sky was so gloomy. He thought maybe the cloud needs help. Milo decided to talk to the cloud.

When Milo approached the cloud, it let out a big sigh that sounded like distant thunder. The cloud spread its dark wings and draped itself over the valley. Its sadness spread to the trees, making the leaves look dull. Milo tried to offer a smile, but the cloud was still heavy. The boy felt the weight of the cloud’s tears. He whispered, "I’m here for you."

Milo remembered his grandmother’s story about kindness being a bright light. He gathered bright ribbons from his pocket and tied them around his hair. The ribbons glowed softly in the air. When the cloud saw the ribbons, it shivered a little. Milo gently sang a tune that echoed through the meadow. The cloud’s surface began to ripple with tiny sparks.

With each kind word, the cloud's size started to shrink. The grey turned into a pale blue, and the drops became sparkle‑like. Milo felt the air lighten as the cloud floated higher. The valley below felt warm and bright. The trees began to sway again, and the flowers lifted their heads. Milo nodded, happy to see his friend lighter.

Suddenly the cloud released a burst of laughter in the form of glittering rainbows. The sky painted colors across the horizon. Milo giggled, and the rain turned to confetti. The meadow became a playground of light and joy. Children from the village joined Milo and sang with the cloud. Together, they danced under the bright sky.

When the day ended, the cloud floated away, taking its newfound brightness with it. Milo waved and promised to return whenever the sky seemed gloomy again. The meadow kept its bright, joyful spirit. All the villagers celebrated the kindness that made the cloud lighter. Milo learned that a single act can turn sorrow into light. The story reminds us that gentle words are powerful clouds of happiness.
