The morning sun was bright, but a dark cloud wall gathered over Maple Hollow. The children waited on the street in pajamas, laughing while they gathered umbrellas and raincoats. They looked up at the sky and made a plan to turn the rain into adventure. Everyone held their breath as the first drops began to fall. The townsfolk paused, wondering what would happen.

The first splash of rain drummed on the rooftops like a drum solo. Maya, the brave girl with the purple hat, pointed to the old oak tree that had lost its leaves in the storm. Tom, who loved animals, suggested that they bring a bucket to collect the rainwater. Lily, the clever one, remembered that the oak had a broken root. The kids agreed to work together and fashioned a small net to help.

The rain continued to fall as if dancing across the town. The children huddled under the net while the tree swayed in the wind. The children felt warm inside, and they pledged to help each other whenever needed.
