The Little Lighthouse Keeper

The Little Lighthouse Keeper

A charming tale of responsibility and courage in a seaside town.

Age 5-7

The Little Lighthouse Keeper

Tom loved waves. He dreamed of shining bright lights. So he asked his grandma to send him to the lighthouse. The old keeper in the lighthouse welcomed him. Tom was ready to learn.

Arrival at the Shore

On a foggy morning he arrived at the shore. The sea was calm but the wind whispered secrets. He saw the stone tower standing tall. Inside the tower, a warm glow welcomed him. The keeper, Mr. Lee, showed him the big lantern.

Meeting the Old Keeper

Mr. Lee taught him about the lens. He explained how the light warned sailors. Tom listened carefully. He practiced turning the heavy wheel. Mr. Lee smiled, proud of his new friend.

Learning the Light

At night the lantern sparkled. Tom felt a surge of duty. He checked the fuel and the oil. The light rotated, casting a path across the waves. He whispered, 'I will keep you safe.'

A Storm Approaches

Suddenly a storm rolled in. Dark clouds gathered. A distant ship struggled to keep its course. Tom's heart raced as he steadied the light. The beacon glowed brighter than ever.

Guiding the Ship

From the far horizon the ship shouted a distress call. Tom answered by turning the light faster. The waves crashed, but the light remained steady. The ship followed and found a safe harbor. Sailors thanked Tom for his courage.

A Bright New Dawn

The storm passed and a rainbow appeared. Tom felt the sea sing his name. Mr. Lee lifted his hand in applause. The lighthouse was brighter than before. Tom promised to always guard it.
