The Girl Who Couldn’t Share

The Girl Who Couldn’t Share

A sweet, gentle tale about sharing and friendship.

4-6

The Little Sticker Collector

Lila loved stickers. She collected them in a shiny box. The stickers were colorful, some had animals and some had flowers. Lila would keep them close to her, never letting anyone else see them. At home, she liked to trace them on her notebook, but she would never give one away. Her friends sometimes saw her stickers and wondered where she got them.

The Big Birthday Party

Lila’s best friend Maya invited everyone to a big birthday party. The house was decorated with streamers and balloons. Lila wanted a special sticker for Maya just because she was Maya's friend. She thought of a bright blue frog sticker. But Maya already had the exact same sticker in her collection. Maya said it would look nice if she had many of them.

Lila’s Dilemma

At the party, Lila looked around for a place to put the frog sticker. She noticed Maya’s bag had a pile of them. Maya asked Lila if she liked the frog stickers. Lila said yes, but she was afraid to give one. She thought if she gave a sticker she might lose it. Maya asked Lila to share because it would make her happy too.

Learning to Share

Lila was nervous, remembering all the times she kept stickers to herself. She thought about how much her friends loved her ideas, but she never shared the stickers. She took a deep breath and decided to give the frog sticker to Maya. She felt a warm, glowing happiness in her chest.

The Surprise

When Maya touched the sticker, she smiled and said “Thank you, Lila.” Lila felt her heart beat faster. Seeing Maya's happy face made Lila realize how wonderful a gift it is when you share something you love. She began to think: sharing is better than keeping everything to yourself.

A New Friendship

From that day on, Lila started sharing her stickers. She made beautiful collages with other friends. All of them had their own stickers and they exchanged them at school. Lila and Maya became best friends forever. Their stories told everyone that sharing brings joy and makes friends stronger.
