A heartwarming story about a little girl who learns that being seen starts from believing in herself.

Lila was a quiet little girl who often felt like a shadow. At school, her classmates talked over her, and even when she raised her hand, no one noticed. At home, her big brother’s laughter filled the room while her small voice disappeared in the noise. One morning, she looked into the mirror and whispered, 'Do I even exist?' The mirror stayed silent, and that made her feel even smaller.

One rainy day, Lila drew a picture of herself surrounded by bright stars. She wished she could shine like them. She placed the drawing on the fridge, hoping someone would see it. But days passed, and no one said anything. It felt like even her drawing was invisible.

One evening, as Lila sat by her window, a tiny glowing firefly flew inside. 'Why are you so dim?' asked the firefly softly. Lila blinked. 'Because no one sees me,' she said. The firefly smiled. 'Maybe they can’t see you because you’re hiding your own light.'

The next morning, Lila decided to speak a little louder and smile a little wider. When her teacher asked a question, she raised her hand again — and this time, the teacher called on her! Her voice trembled, but her words were strong. For the first time, she felt a spark inside her chest — warm and bright.

At home, Lila showed her family the firefly she had drawn in a new picture. Her mom smiled, 'This is beautiful, Lila.' Her brother nodded, 'You’re really good at drawing!' Lila’s heart swelled with joy. She realized that being seen wasn’t about shouting — it was about shining with confidence. From that day on, the little girl who once felt invisible began to glow from within.
