The Disappearance
It was the morning of the biggest game of the year. Everyone at Maple Grove Elementary was buzzing with excitement. The cheer squad had practiced for weeks, the band was ready, and the school mascot, a giant smiling squirrel, was supposed to lead the parade. But when Coach Daniels opened the costume closet, the squirrel suit was gone! Panic spread quickly through the hallways.
The Search Begins
Ellie, Max, and Jay, the best friends and junior detectives of the school, decided to take the case. They searched the gym, the cafeteria, and even behind the stage curtains. Clues were scarce until Ellie found a trail of glitter leading toward the art room. 'Who uses glitter?' she whispered. 'Almost everyone,' Max groaned.
A Glittery Clue
In the art room, they found paintbrushes and spilled glitter, but also a muddy sneaker print. Jay bent down to examine it closely. 'This belongs to someone from the soccer team,' he said confidently. The friends hurried to the locker room, hoping to find their next lead.
The Red Scarf
Inside the locker room, they found a red scarf caught on a locker handle. 'That’s Mia’s!' said Max. Mia was the team captain—and also known for her pranks. They followed the sound of laughter coming from outside. There, Mia stood next to a large box, trying to tape it shut.
The Big Reveal
The kids rushed over and opened the box before Mia could stop them. Out popped the school mascot costume—safe and sound! Mia blushed and admitted, 'I just wanted to surprise everyone with a new sparkle sash I made for the mascot.' Everyone laughed, relieved. The squirrel was back in action, and the big game could begin! The friends cheered as their mystery-solving adventure came to an end.
